Announcing the winners of the “Date Palm International Photography " competition, in its Fourteenth session, (2023).

  • Khalifa International Award for Date Palm and Agricultural Innovation General Secretariat, announced the winners’ names of the “Date Palm International Photography " competition, in its Fourteenth session, (2023), organized by the Award under the patronage of H.E. Sheikh Nahayan Mabarak Al Nahayan, Minister of Tolerance and Coexistence, Chairman of the Award’s Board of Trustees, where the results were as follows:

     

    First Category: Date Palm

    1. First place winner: Ferdinand Bedana
    2. Second place winner: Nasser Al Hishami

     

    Second Category: Human and Date Palm

    1. First place winner:  Abdullah Khalili
    2. Second place winner: Jose Luis Perez de la Torre
    3. Third place winner: Sami Al Hinai

     

    This came in a press statement made by Dr. Abdelouahhab Zaid, Secretary General of Khalifa Award, expressing his happiness for what the competition has achieved during the past fourteen years, which helped enhance the human relationship with the date palm tree using the photography art as a mean of developing the public awareness on the importance of the Date palm tree. Where this also created a space for the exchange of experiences between photographers from all over the world. Highlighting the tourism, environmental and heritage components of the date palm tree, through the photographic pictures, and encouraging the human connection with the earth and the environment.

    The Fourteenth session of the competition was remarkable by the participation of 309 photographers, representing 23 countries, where the number of participating photos reached 902 beautiful pictures that expressed the photographers' love and close relationship with the blessed tree.
